IBM opens FutureNow Centre in Vizag
Andhra Pradesh Minister for Information Technology, Electronics and Human Resource Development Nara Lokesh on Wednesday inaugurated IBM’s Consulting FutureNow Centre in Visakhapatnam in the presence of IBM India and South Asia Managing Director Sandip Patel and senior officials from the State government and the company.
The facility will support IBM’s consulting and technology delivery operations for global clients, with capabilities in artificial intelligence (AI), hybrid cloud, software engineering, data and analytics, cybersecurity, and enterprise transformation. It will also focus on AI-first cloud transformation, platform engineering, service integration, quality engineering, and user experience services.
IBM said the centre forms part of its strategy to expand innovation and delivery capabilities in emerging technology hubs across India. The company cited Visakhapatnam’s growing digital talent pool, academic institutions, and evolving technology ecosystem as key factors behind the investment.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Lokesh said the new centre reinforces Visakhapatnam’s emergence as a hub for AI and digital services. He said the State government aims to build an ecosystem that attracts technology investments, creates skilled employment, and develops future-ready talent.
Mr. Patel said the facility reflects IBM’s commitment to supporting clients in accelerating AI adoption and digital transformation while strengthening India’s position as a global technology delivery destination.
IBM Consulting now operates 15 FutureNow Centres across India, including the newly inaugurated facility in Visakhapatnam.
