CTUAP’s permanent campus to open doors from 2026–27

The Central Tribal University of Andhra Pradesh (CTUAP) is preparing for a landmark transition, with classes at its permanent campus in Chinamedapalli–Marrivalasa villages in Vizianagaram district set to commence from the 2026–27 academic year, as construction at the site has already crossed the halfway mark.

In-charge Vice-Chancellor T. Srinivasan said civil works, which began two years ago, are on track to be completed by June 2027. However, the university is not waiting for full completion before making the move. With the academic block, administrative building, girls’ hostel, and mess facilities nearing readiness, officials are planning a phased relocation that could see the first students arrive at the new campus before the year ends.

In the initial phase, non-science programmes are likely to be shifted, with the remaining departments expected to follow in the subsequent academic year.

The university has urged the State government to expedite pending infrastructure works, including the approach road, drainage network, and water and electricity supply — utilities essential for the campus to become fully operational.

At present, CTUAP operates from a temporary campus housed in old Andhra University buildings on the outskirts of Vizianagaram. The Centre has sanctioned nearly ₹800 crore for the project, while the State government has allocated 561.88 acres along the Vizianagaram–Parvathipuram route for the university’s development.
