AMTZ Launches India’s First Dental MedTech Innovation Hub in Visakhapatnam
The Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) has inaugurated Dentic World Private Limited, billed as India’s first startup and innovation hub dedicated exclusively to dental technology.
The hub targets a sector that imports 85–90 per cent of its equipment and materials — a dependence that has driven up costs, slowed procurement, and constrained local customisation, according to an official statement issued on Saturday.
Dentic World is led by CEO Krishna Sai Inkoolu and guided by AMTZ founder and CEO Jitendra Sharma. Its stated goal is to shift India’s role in dental technology from importer to designer and manufacturer. Priority products include zirconia discs for dental crowns, next-generation implants, and specialised consumables.
The facility is open to independent researchers, startups, dental colleges, and established industry players. It draws on AMTZ’s existing manufacturing infrastructure — including 5-axis CNC milling machines, industrial 3D printers, and digital CAD/CAM systems — and operates under ISO 13485:2016-certified quality standards, making its products eligible for export.
Dentic World also aims to develop AI-enabled treatments, 3D-printed dental solutions, advanced digital orthodontics, and oral cancer screening tools.
According to the official statement, the initiative aims to build indigenous supply chains aligned with the central government’s Make in India programme. It is also expected to lower dental care costs and improve access to quality treatment. Officials added that the venture could establish Visakhapatnam as a global centre for dental technology.
