SCoR GM calls for strict safety at level crossings
South Coast Railway (SCoR) General Manager Sandeep Mathur has directed railway officials to strictly enforce safety protocols at level crossing gates and ensure heightened vigilance among train-passing staff to strengthen operational safety across the zone.
Chairing a review meeting with principal heads of departments and Divisional Railway Managers, Mr. Mathur said there would be zero tolerance for operational deviations. He stressed the need for frontline personnel to perform their duties with discipline, vigilance and timely communication.
He said train-passing staff play a vital role in ensuring safe train operations and called for strict adherence to all prescribed safety procedures.
Reviewing safety arrangements at level crossing gates, the General Manager instructed officials to ensure complete compliance with operating procedures. He emphasised that gate operations must be carried out with utmost care, responsibility and accountability.
Mr. Mathur also directed officers to conduct regular safety counselling sessions, organise awareness programmes, and reinforce best practices through field inspections. He asked departments to proactively identify potential operational vulnerabilities and initiate timely corrective measures to prevent safety lapses.
The meeting concluded with officials reaffirming their commitment to maintaining high safety standards across the South Coast Railway network.
