Six-year-old boy dies after alleged classroom assault by teacher in Visakhapatnam

A six-year-old boy died after his teacher allegedly attempted to strip him and slapped him inside a classroom at a school in Visakhapatnam on Thursday.

Pranay Teja, a UKG student at Little Gardens School in One Town, was declared brought dead at King George Hospital (KGH).

The incident came to light after CCTV footage purportedly showing the classroom episode surfaced on social media. The footage appears to show the teacher pulling the child towards her and attempting to remove his clothes while apparently checking his homework.

The child is seen crying and waving his hands, apparently asking the teacher to stop. The teacher then appears to pause briefly, say something to him and slap him across the cheek.

Moments later, the child appears to collapse against the teacher.

The footage has raised questions about what happened inside the classroom and the circumstances preceding the child’s death.

Police, however, said the exact cause of death would be established only after a detailed investigation and post-mortem examination.

Police are examining the CCTV footage and other evidence and are also investigating whether the child had any underlying health condition that could have contributed to his death.

The family has demanded a comprehensive investigation and stringent action against those found responsible. Police officials said the circumstances surrounding the death would be clarified after the investigation is completed and the post-mortem report is received.
