AP Chambers Business Expo to boost industrial growth, says Collector
With Visakhapatnam emerging as one of Andhra Pradesh’s fastest-growing investment destinations, the Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation (AP Chambers) will organise its first-ever Business Expo in the city from September 11 to 13, aiming to strengthen the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) sector and create new business opportunities.
Unveiling the expo brochure at a meeting organised by AP Chambers on Saturday, District Collector Abhishikth Kishore said the event would provide a platform for MSMEs to showcase their products, expand business networks and connect with investors and buyers.
Calling for inclusive growth, Mr. Kishore said the State government was committed to promoting MSMEs as a key driver of industrial development and employment. He urged entrepreneurs, industrialists and other stakeholders to actively participate in the three-day event and contribute to Visakhapatnam’s growth.
Highlighting the city’s growing economic significance, the Collector said Andhra Pradesh was attracting nearly 25% of the investments coming into the country, with a substantial share being channelled to the Visakhapatnam region. The presence of global technology major Google in the city reflected its increasing attractiveness as an investment destination, he said.
Mr. Kishore said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had accorded priority to the development of the Visakhapatnam Economic Region, where around 50 projects were expected to be taken up. He added that the government was also pursuing the Bay City concept to transform Visakhapatnam into a globally competitive urban and industrial hub. The State government, he said, continued to organise the Partnership Summit in the city to attract investments.
AP Chambers Visakhapatnam Zone Chairman P. Sobhan Prakash said the Business Expo would bring together industries, entrepreneurs, investors and start-ups on a common platform to promote trade, investment and industrial growth.
Past Vice-President of AP Chambers Sudhir Mulagada said the expo would provide MSMEs with a platform to showcase their capabilities, connect with buyers and investors, and explore new markets.
“It will help enterprises expand their market reach, adopt new technologies and forge strategic partnerships, contributing to industrial growth and employment generation in the region,” he said.
State Secretary Subba Rao Gupta said the previous edition of the Business Expo, held in Vijayawada, had received an encouraging response and expressed confidence that the inaugural Visakhapatnam edition would also be a success.
AP Chambers Vice-Chairmen Pawan Karthik and Shivakumar, Women’s Wing Chairperson Dr. Srivalli, and members Geetha Srikanth, Vani Bala and others attended the programme.
