Collector reviews Census training, inspects public service delivery in Bondapalli
District Collector S. Ram Sundar Reddy on Thursday directed officials to intensify awareness of WhatsApp Governance to ensure easier access to government services for the public.
During a field visit to Bondapalli mandal, the Collector inspected census training programmes at the Mandal Parishad office and stressed the need for accurate and complete data collection. He said every household must be covered without exception and called for wider publicity on self-enumeration, noting its importance in strengthening future planning processes.
He interacted with enumerators and assessed their understanding of census procedures, instructing them to ensure that all 33 parameters are recorded with 100% accuracy.
Later, during a surprise inspection of the Gollupalem Secretariat, Mr. Reddy reviewed records and directed officials to prominently display information on WhatsApp Governance to improve public awareness. He also interacted with residents and enquired about their grievances.
At an anganwadi centre in the village, the Collector expressed dissatisfaction over delays in updating children’s attendance records and instructed ICDS officials to initiate appropriate action. He reviewed records, inspected basic facilities, and interacted with children to assess their welfare.
At Devupalli MPP Primary School, Mr. Reddy inspected classrooms, kitchen facilities, implementation of the mid-day meal scheme, nutrition garden and sanitation infrastructure. He appreciated teacher Allu Srinivasa Rao for his efforts in improving student attendance and engagement, including bringing children from Gudem village and teaching them Hindi.
He also noted that student strength had increased from less than ten to 29, enabling the sanction of a second teacher for the school.
Tahsildar Dola Rajeswara Rao, MPDO P. Raghunatha Rao, and other officials accompanied the Collector during the visit.
