DGP Inaugurates Integrated Police Station Complex in Visakhapatnam

Director General of Police Harish Kumar Gupta on Tuesday inaugurated a newly constructed integrated police station complex housing the Kancharapalem Traffic Police Station, Airport Traffic Police Station, and Airport Crime Police Station.

Built at an estimated cost of ₹3.5 crore, the structure is a stilt-plus-two-floors building with a total built-up area of 16,500 sq ft, with each floor measuring around 5,500 sq ft.

Officials said construction of the project began on March 5, 2019. The work, taken up by M/s K. Ananta Rao & Co., reached the stilt-plus-two-floor slab stage before it was stalled due to pending bill payments. The project was later resumed in September 2025 and completed in March 2026.

The stilt floor has been earmarked for parking facilities along with restroom amenities for police personnel. The first floor will house the Kancharapalem Traffic Police Station, Airport Traffic Police Station, and Airport Crime Police Station.

The second floor has been proposed for the Cyber Crime Police Station under Zone-II of the Visakhapatnam Police Commissionerate. Officials said a proposal will be submitted to the government seeking additional funds to complete the remaining works.

So far, ₹2.46 crore has been spent on the project, officials added.
