GITAM opens 2026 admissions; scholarships up to 100%, GAT on May 17
The School of Science at GITAM Deemed to be University has opened admissions for its undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. programmes for the 2026 academic year, offering a wide range of science and technology courses along with substantial scholarships.
Announcing the details on Monday, Dean Prof. Anantha Ramakrishna said admissions to the university’s campuses in Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru will be conducted through the All India-level GITAM Admission Test (GAT-2026), scheduled for May 17.
The university offers four-year B.Sc. (Honours) programmes in key disciplines such as Biotechnology, Chemistry, Electronics, Food Science and Technology, Mathematics, Microbiology, and Physics, along with a three-year Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA). Students can also enhance their degrees with minors in emerging fields like Quantum Computing, Data Science, and Bioinformatics.
At the postgraduate level, two-year M.Sc. programmes are available across major science streams, along with a Master of Computer Applications (MCA). Full-time Ph.D. programmes, supported by fellowships, are also open for aspiring researchers.
Highlighting student support, Prof. Ramakrishna said the university has introduced a unified scholarship framework, offering fee waivers ranging from 40% to 100% for eligible candidates. In a push to promote core sciences, students enrolling in Mathematics, Statistics, Environmental Science, Physics, or Electronics will receive an additional ₹50,000 fee concession.
Students with valid scores in national-level entrance exams such as CUET, JEE, TS EAMCET, AP EAPCET, or JAM can also apply.
The last date to submit applications is May 14. The entrance test and undergraduate interviews will be held on May 17, with results announced the same day.
