The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has announced the launch of a new Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train, Divya Dakshin Yatra, offering devotees and tourists an opportunity to explore some of South India’s most revered temples and heritage destinations in a single package tour. The special train will depart from Visakhapatnam on April 27.

The spiritually themed journey has been planned as an eight-night, nine-day itinerary and will cover major destinations including Kanchipuram, Mahabalipuram, Rameswaram, Madurai, Trichy, Thanjavur and Tiruvannamalai. The tour is aimed at pilgrims, families and travellers seeking a convenient and affordable temple circuit experience.

During the trip, passengers will visit several iconic landmarks such as the famed Meenakshi Amman Temple at Madurai, the historic Shore Temple at Mahabalipuram and other prominent shrines known for their religious and cultural significance. The tour will conclude on May 4, when the train returns after completing the circuit.

The all-inclusive package has been priced at ₹14,700 for adults and ₹13,800 for children between five and eleven years of age, making it an economical option for group and family travel.

According to IRCTC, the fare includes confirmed sleeper class train tickets, hotel accommodation, road transportation for local sightseeing, and daily vegetarian meals throughout the journey. In addition, passengers will be provided travel insurance, professional tour escort services and onboard security arrangements to ensure a safe and comfortable experience.

Railway tourism officials said Bharat Gaurav trains have been receiving encouraging response from travellers, as they combine pilgrimage, tourism and convenience under one organised package.
