NTPC Simhadri celebrates Ambedkar Jayanti
NTPC Simhadri observed the 135th birth anniversary of B. R. Ambedkar at the Sakuntalam Auditorium on Tuesday with employees, their family members, and residents participating in the commemorative programme.
Head of Project (Simhadri), Ayaskanta Jena, attended the event as the chief guest. In his address, he said the ideals and vision of Dr. Ambedkar continued to remain relevant in the present day, particularly in building inclusive institutions and ensuring equal opportunity, justice, dignity, and progress in the workplace.
He said Dr. Ambedkar’s contributions to the nation, especially in shaping the Constitution and championing social justice, would continue to inspire future generations.
As part of the celebrations, essay writing and drawing competitions were organised for participants. Recreational events, including lemon-and-spoon and cycling competitions, also drew enthusiastic response from employees and children.
A cultural programme presented by children from nearby villages added colour to the occasion. The performances included songs, dances, and recitations highlighting the life, struggles, and achievements of Dr. Ambedkar.
Officials said the observance reflected NTPC Simhadri’s continued commitment to the values of equality, inclusion, and social empowerment.
