‘Knights in Khaki’ honours 30 police personnel in Visakhapatnam

As part of the fifth edition of the Knights in Khaki initiative, 30 police personnel drawn from various wings, including traffic, crime, and intelligence, were felicitated for their exemplary service, dedication, and commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring public safety in the city.

The programme, organised by Vizag Round Table–77 under the aegis of Round Table India, seeks to recognise the often-unseen contributions of police personnel who work tirelessly to safeguard society.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from police officers and their family members. Organisers said the initiative was designed to bridge the gap between the public and the police by fostering closer engagement and mutual appreciation.

They added that the platform also aims to motivate police personnel by acknowledging their significant contributions to society.

The Knights in Khaki initiative has been gaining recognition in several major cities across the country.

Driven by its national motto, “Freedom Through Education,” Round Table India has, over the years, constructed more than 9,272 classrooms in 3,782 schools, benefiting over 10.2 million children.

Apart from creating educational infrastructure, the organisation also supports digital classrooms, drinking water facilities, classroom furniture, and personality development programmes for underprivileged children.

A non-political and non-sectarian voluntary body, Round Table India continues to undertake social initiatives alongside its community outreach programmes.
