190 Youth Receive Appointment Letters at Rozgar Mela

Around 190 newly recruited candidates received appointment letters during the regional chapter of the 19th National Rozgar Mela, held at the campus of the Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam in Gambheeram on Saturday.

The programme, organised locally by the Railways, facilitated recruitment into various Central government ministries and public sector organisations, including the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Education, Department of Posts, Indian Navy, and Food Corporation of India.

The event coincided with Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributing more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly selected candidates across 47 centres nationwide through video conferencing.

Addressing the recruits virtually, the Prime Minister highlighted India’s growing international collaborations aimed at creating employment opportunities and providing technical exposure for youth. Referring to his recent five-country diplomatic tour, he said agreements in areas such as semiconductor manufacturing and artificial intelligence would strengthen India’s future workforce and enhance its role in emerging technologies.

Modi also underlined the Centre’s investment in sectors expected to generate large-scale employment. He said ₹75,000 crore had been allocated to strengthen domestic shipbuilding, ship-repair, and aviation maintenance ecosystems. The Prime Minister added that the Production Linked Incentive scheme had boosted electronics manufacturing and employment generation in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.

The Visakhapatnam programme was chaired by Waltair Divisional Railway Manager Lalit Bohra and M. Chandra Shekhar.

Senior officials urged the newly appointed candidates to adopt digital work systems, maintain a citizen-centric approach in governance, and contribute towards the goal of achieving a “Viksit Bharat” by 2047.
