348 tribal youth attend job interviews under ‘SARAL’ programme in ASR district

The Alluri Sitaramaraju district police, with support from the Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) and the Centre of Excellence in Maritime and Shipbuilding (CEMS), have launched the “SARAL” programme. It helps unemployed tribal youth find work.

The programme gives two months of free training and hostel stay. After training, candidates can work as warehouse executives, inventory clerks, welders, or electricians. This is part of VPA’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts.

On Friday, 348 tribal youth (310 men and 38 women) from mandals including Araku, Ananthagiri, Dumbriguda, Paderu, Hukumpeta, G. Madugula, Pedabayalu, Munchingput, Chintapalli, GK Veedhi, and Koyyuru attended interviews. Superintendent of Police Amit Bardar supervised the process. Out of them, 280 candidates (250 men and 30 women) were selected for training and jobs.

Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration) K. Dheeraj urged the youth to use this opportunity. He said it will help them grow and prevent involvement in illegal activities like ganja cultivation, trafficking, or Maoist influence. The police also provided lunch for all participants.

The programme was attended by ASP K. Dheeraj, SDPO Paderu S. Sahabhaj Ahmed, Circle Inspector D. Deena Bandhu, VPA officer Kanakaraju, and CEMS representatives N. Kanakaraju, P. Shivareddy, T. Venkata Ram, along with other staff.
