National Conference on e-Governance to begin in Visakhapatnam

The 28th National Conference on e-Governance (NCeG) will begin in Visakhapatnam on September 22. Therefore, senior officials, industry leaders, and academicians will gather to discuss digital transformation in governance.

The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) are organising the event in partnership with the Andhra Pradesh government. Consequently, the theme of the two-day conference is “Viksit Bharat: Civil Service and Digital Transformation.”

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Union Minister Jitendra Singh will inaugurate the conference. Furthermore, the organisers will present the National Awards for e-Governance 2025. As a result, 19 initiatives will be honoured with 10 gold, six silver, and three jury awards. In addition, winners include central, state and district authorities, gram panchayats, and academic and research institutions.

The conference will feature six plenary sessions and six breakout sessions. Moreover, around 70 speakers will address subjects such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, agriculture digitisation, and benchmarking of service delivery. Likewise, sessions will highlight Visakhapatnam’s potential as an IT hub, grassroots innovations, and the role of subsea cables and AI data centres in governance.

Delegates from 28 States and eight Union Territories will participate. Additionally, an exhibition will showcase India’s achievements in e-governance. Specifically, a “Wall of Fame” will display previous award winners.

The Secretary of DARPG, V. Srinivas, and Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand will address the gathering. Meanwhile, Joint Secretary Sarita Chauhan will deliver the “Visakhapatnam Declaration on e-Governance 2025.”

Thus, the conference will encourage secure and sustainable models of service delivery. Ultimately, it will strengthen the vision of a developed India.
