NRTs Key to Andhra Coalition, Says Tourism Minister
Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh on Thursday praised the Non-Resident Telugu (NRT) community for their contribution to the formation of the TDP-led coalition government in Andhra Pradesh.
Addressing a gathering of Jana Sena Party (JSP) supporters in London, Mr. Durgesh highlighted the efforts of Telugus living in the U.S., U.K., and Gulf countries, who, he said, worked tirelessly for the coalition’s success without seeking personal gain.
“Despite demanding schedules, they kept the welfare of their homeland in mind and played a key role in the victory of a government committed to democratic principles,” the Minister said, expressing gratitude for their dedication. He also lauded their investments in the State, which, he noted, were strengthening Andhra Pradesh’s development and cultural ties.
Mr. Durgesh credited the TDP, JSP, and BJP for ending what he described as an “oppressive and dictatorial rule” in Andhra Pradesh between 2019 and 2024. “With collective cooperation, the government has ushered in a new era of democratic governance,” he said.
He further stated that Andhra Pradesh was on a path of progress and prosperity under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
