Goyal Says India’s Growth Surge Will Come From Tech and Trade

Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said India’s long-term growth depends on technology adoption, transparent trade systems, and steady reforms. He spoke at the inaugural session of the 30th CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam.

He praised Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for placing Andhra Pradesh on a development path that matches national goals. He said the State is well-positioned to capture new economic opportunities.

Goyal said Visakhapatnam is becoming a major gateway for global trade. He noted the city’s strong steel industry and its expanding aqua sector. He added that the Swarna Andhra Vision 2047 will strengthen the State’s economic and tech framework.

He repeated the Centre’s goal of making India a prosperous nation by 2047. He said wider access to technology remains central to this plan. He pointed to the global rise of India’s digital payment systems and called them an international standard.

Goyal said India is moving ahead with semiconductor investments worth 30 billion dollars. He also highlighted progress in the space sector. He recalled the successful launch of 104 satellites in one mission. He reaffirmed India’s plan to generate 500 gigawatts of green energy.

He praised India’s engineering workforce for its global impact. He also recalled India’s supply of COVID-19 vaccines to 110 countries. He said this reflects India’s development partnership approach.

Goyal said India is deepening trade ties through new free trade agreements. He added that GST reforms are speeding up digitalisation and supporting broad-based growth. He said India continues to draw strong foreign investment due to better transparency and trade support.

He said CII summits are helping drive new investment and innovation. He added that the Centre is ready to support an Andhra Pradesh pavilion at major trade fairs. He also said the Bihar election results show continued public trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
