Amaravati 3D Model Steals Spotlight at CII Summit
A dazzling 3D scale model of the future Amaravati Government Complex stole the spotlight at the 30th CII Partnership Summit, held at the AU Engineering College Grounds. Delegates couldn’t take their eyes off the miniature cityscape, which became the show’s most photographed attraction.
Built by Hyderabad-based Team One India Pvt. Ltd., the model was initially prepared for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to Andhra Pradesh but remained hidden for security reasons. Its grand debut at the summit offered visitors their first tangible glimpse of the state’s upcoming capital.
“This is the first model of its scale ever made for a capital city,” said Sridhar Gopisetti, principal architect and managing director of Team One India. The government complex spans 6,814 acres, with 1,968 acres devoted to lush green spaces. At its heart lies a vast 1,591-acre central park—four times the size of New York’s Central Park.
The architectural feat took 40 designers just 24 days to complete. Crafted from delicate materials across 12 panels—each 8.5 feet wide—the model is valued at ₹1.5 crore and stored under climate-controlled conditions to preserve its precision.
Set against the serene backdrop of the Krishna River, the Amaravati Government Complex is designed to host the Legislative Assembly, High Court, and Secretariat. The layout draws inspiration from Lutyens’ New Delhi, blending heritage planning with modern sustainability. Solar power, electric mobility, water taxis, and cycling corridors form the backbone of its eco-friendly blueprint.
Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s drive to fast-track Amaravati’s development is supported by funding from the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, and HUDCO. Key administrative buildings are set to rise within the next two to three years, marking a major step in Andhra Pradesh’s capital vision.
