Andhra Pradesh has taken a pioneering step in the fields of clean energy and digital innovation with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the World Economic Forum (WEF) on Saturday. The agreement establishes the WEF–AP Centre for Energy & Cyber Resilience (C4IR AP), the first dual-themed Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution in India.

The ceremony, held at the CII Partnership Summit, was attended by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, IT Minister Nara Lokesh, Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand, and WEF representatives including Jeremy Jurgens, head of WEF’s Centres for Frontier Technologies and Innovation and Cybersecurity, and Suchi Kedia.

The centre will bring together clean energy innovation, AI-driven digital transformation, and cyber resilience under one platform. Speaking at the event, Naidu said the initiative would act as a strategic catalyst for the state’s long-term transformation. “C4IR will focus on two major global priorities — energy transition and cyber resilience,” he said, adding that green energy had become a “vital part of sustainability”.

Jeremy Jurgens welcomed the collaboration, describing it as a “significant leap forward in advancing both AI transformation and the global clean energy transition.” He said the centre would integrate digital innovation, secure AI systems, and sustainable energy solutions, positioning Andhra Pradesh at the forefront of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and driving economic growth, resilience, and social prosperity.

Other dignitaries present included Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar, APEPDCL CMD I. Prudhvi Tej, and AP-Transco Joint Managing Director G. Surya Sai Praveenchand.
