President Murmu Hails Sai Baba’s Philosophy as a Guiding Light

President Droupadi Murmu reaffirmed the timeless significance of Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s philosophy, describing his life and message as a guiding light for humanity.

Speaking at a special programme held on Saturday at Prasanthi Nilayam to mark the centenary celebrations of the spiritual leader, the President said that Baba’s principle, “Service to mankind is service to God,” continues to inspire millions across the world to engage in humanitarian service for the underprivileged.

Emphasising the government’s efforts toward improving citizens’ lives, President Murmu said skill development and inclusive growth remain central to national progress. She urged spiritual and social organisations to actively contribute to nation-building and commended the Sathya Sai Trust, founded in 1969, for its continuous work in empowering women and supporting welfare initiatives across India.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu echoed her sentiments, observing that world peace can be achieved when individuals and nations follow Sai Baba’s ideals of “Love All–Serve All” and “Help Ever–Hurt Never,” alongside the core values of truth, righteousness, peace, love, and non-violence.

Recalling his association with Sai Baba, Mr. Naidu highlighted the spiritual leader’s willingness to mortgage Prasanthi Nilayam to resolve Rayalaseema’s drinking water crisis, an act that inspired devotees to fund a project now benefiting several states.

Mr. Naidu also launched the Sri Sathya Sai Tribal Women Health Care Programme, which focuses on preventive and curative healthcare for tribal women through telemedicine, cancer and anaemia screening, and clean drinking water facilities. Describing the initiative as a nation-building effort, he called tribal women the “conscience keepers of civilisation.”

President Murmu later visited Sai Kulwant Hall, offered prayers at Baba’s Maha Samadhi, and lit the Universal Torch of Peace to mark the occasion.
