APCCI Presents Pre-Budget Proposals to Finance Minister
Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation (APCCI) met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Vijayawada on Friday to present key pre-budget proposals aimed at enhancing business efficiency and sectoral growth.
The APCCI delegation was led by President Potluri Bhaskara Rao, with Executive Vice President B. Raja Sekhar, Past President Muthavarapu Murali Krishna, and State Tourism Committee Chairman R. V. Swamy also present.
During the meeting, Bhaskara Rao urged the Centre to bolster the MSME ecosystem by expanding CGTMSE coverage, easing collateral requirements, and extending interest subsidies for export-oriented and cluster-based manufacturing units. He further called for investment-linked tax incentives and accelerated depreciation benefits in tourism, hospitality, and food processing sectors to unlock industrial tourism and value-added opportunities.
The chamber also recommended incentives for technology modernization, including digital automation, AI, robotics, and energy-efficient equipment. Proposals included enhancing product-testing infrastructure and improving logistics in Tier-II and Tier-III cities, focusing on cold chains, warehousing, and multimodal transport hubs to reduce freight costs and enhance export preparedness.
On GST matters, the APCCI sought uniform protocols for investigations under Section 67, quicker refunds for exporters and hospitality operators, and measures to curb overlapping or repeated inquiries and avoid unnecessary summons without fresh approval.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman assured the delegation that their suggestions would be thoroughly reviewed during the budget formulation process. Appreciating the dialogue, AP Chambers reaffirmed its dedication to fostering investment, job creation, and a stable regulatory environment in the state.
