Revenue system compromised under previous regime: Atchannaidu
Agriculture Minister Kinjarapu Atchannaidu on Friday said the revenue administration had been severely compromised during the previous government, noting that nearly 90% of complaints received by the government relate to the revenue department.
Addressing a Revenue Grama Sabha at Akkayyavalasa village in Kotabommali mandal, the Minister distributed new Pattadar Passbooks to farmers and interacted with villagers to hear their grievances.
Mr. Atchannaidu said the earlier re-survey was full of errors, causing hardship to thousands of farmers. He said around 4,000 revenue issues were resolved in a single day following a review with the District Collector. As per Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s directions, the re-survey process will be completed within a year without errors, he added, assuring immediate correction of any discrepancies in the new passbooks.
He said the current government is issuing passbooks with the official State seal, unlike the previous practice of printing photographs on passbooks and survey stones.
The Minister said the new e-passbooks are being printed in Chennai using advanced technology and will be delivered directly to farmers’ homes by post. The QR code in the passbook will provide complete land details, and any attempt to tamper with records will trigger an instant alert to the landowner’s mobile phone, he said.
Referring to alleged government land encroachments in the Tekkali region during the previous regime, Mr. Atchannaidu said an inquiry is underway and warned of strict action against those responsible.
He also announced the widening of the road at Akkayyavalasa village and instructed officials to immediately begin construction of toilets in the local school. The Minister later released the calendar of the PRTU teachers’ association.
