District Collector A.S. Dinesh Kumar has directed officials to organize the three-day Araku Chali Utsav–2026 on a grand scale as part of Visakha Utsav, scheduled for January 30, 31, and February 1 in Alluri Sitharama Raju district.
During Thursday’s review of arrangements with officials, the Collector called for effective coordination among all departments and urged active participation by the public and tourists. He said the festival should promote the scenic beauty of Araku Valley while showcasing its rich tribal culture and traditions.
Mr. Dinesh Kumar said the event will feature adventure sports, trekking, contemporary cultural programs, and special youth sports competitions. Stalls highlighting tribal lifestyles, handicrafts, art forms, and traditional cuisines will also be set up, along with performances by local artists.
He instructed officials to ensure foolproof arrangements for transport, drinking water, and other basic amenities.
Officials said programmes will be held at Ananthagiri, Madagada viewpoint, Araku Pinery, Padmapuram Gardens, and the Tribal Museum. Plans include hot air balloon and helicopter rides, a flower show, trekking events, an Araku Tribal Fashion Show, and a drone show.
