Rozgar Mela has accelerated Central recruitment process, says Minister
Union Minister of State for Steel and Heavy Industries Bhupathi Raju Srinivasa Varma on Saturday said the Centre’s Rozgar Mela initiative has significantly accelerated the process of filling vacancies in government departments and has emerged as a success across the country.
Addressing a programme after distributing appointment letters, he said the initiative had provided employment opportunities to lakhs of youth, instilling confidence and enthusiasm among them. He recalled that recruitment to government jobs had faced considerable delays in the past, with notifications not being issued for years. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the recruitment process is now being taken up in mission mode and expedited, he said.
Mr. Srinivasa Varma was the chief guest at the Rozgar Mela event organised under the aegis of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at the Visakha Sagarmala Convention Centre. He handed over appointment letters to candidates selected for various Central government departments.
The Minister said the NDA government has so far conducted 17 Rozgar Melas and issued appointment letters to around 11 lakh candidates across the country. During the 18th Rozgar Mela held on Thursday, appointment letters were distributed to 61,000 candidates nationwide, including 392 in Visakhapatnam, he said.
He added that initiatives such as Make in India, Made in India, and the promotion of the MSME sector are creating wider employment opportunities and contributing to the country’s economic growth.
CISF Inspector General Saravanan, CISF Deputy Inspector General Dr. Raghavendra Kumar, Port Secretary Ramanamurthy, and others were present.
