Lokayukta Camp in Vizag Receives 100+ Public Complaints
Justice P. Rajani, Upa-Lokayukta of Andhra Pradesh, held a two-day camp at the Zilla Parishad Office in Krishna Nagar, Maharanipeta, on January 29 and 30, drawing a significant public response.
The camp was organised to improve regional access to the Lokayukta institution and to enable people from the north coastal districts of the State to present their grievances directly. According to officials, the initiative was aimed at strengthening the grievance redressal mechanism at the regional level.
Speaking to the media, Justice Rajani said more than 100 new complaints were registered during the camp. In addition, several complainants took part in hearings related to pending cases. She observed that the turnout and participation indicated growing public confidence in the Lokayukta system.
In view of the response and requests from members of the public, the Upa-Lokayukta said similar camp sittings would be held in the Visakhapatnam region in the future to enhance outreach and access to justice in the north coastal districts.
She also appreciated the support extended by officials of the Revenue Department, Police, Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation, and the media for the arrangements made for the smooth conduct of the programme.
