GITAM Wins Global Honour for Lifelong Learning Initiative
The GITAM School of Business in Andhra Pradesh has received the Best Lifelong Learning Initiative award at the AMBA & BGA Excellence Awards 2026, earning global recognition for its Innovation & Entrepreneurship Continuum.
The awards are presented by the UK-based Association of MBAs (AMBA) and the Business Graduates Association (BGA), organizations known for accrediting business schools and promoting standards in management education. Each year, institutions from more than 75 countries participate, competing in categories that highlight innovation, impact, and responsible management practices.
GITAM’s winning entry focuses on a framework designed to extend learning beyond graduation. Spearheaded by the school’s Venture Development Centre, the initiative connects academic study with hands-on venture creation and incubation support through DST GITAM-iTBI.
Launched in 2019 and expanded from 2023 onward, the program has engaged more than 1,000 learners and supported over 300 ventures, according to the institution. The model is intended to help participants progress from students to entrepreneurs and mentors, blending classroom instruction with industry exposure, alumni mentorship, and access to funding networks.
Prof. Raja P. Pappu, dean of the GITAM School of Business, described the recognition as an affirmation of the institution’s broader educational philosophy.
“The recognition reflects the collective efforts of faculty, mentors, students, alumni, and industry partners who have helped build a dynamic entrepreneurial ecosystem,” he said. “It validates our long-term commitment to nurturing innovation, supporting venture creation, and ensuring that learning continues well beyond the classroom.”
The honor comes as business schools worldwide place greater emphasis on entrepreneurship, employability, and lifelong learning pathways.
