VMRDA Sets May-End Deadline for Airport Link Roads
The Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) has set a deadline of May-end to complete priority Master Plan roads connecting the city to the upcoming Bhogapuram International Airport.
At a joint technical review meeting held on Wednesday, VMRDA chairman M.V. Pranav Gopal and Metropolitan Commissioner N. Tej Bharat reviewed the progress of various development works across different zones under VMRDA limits.
Mr. Pranav Gopal directed officials to ensure that all key roads leading to the Bhogapuram airport are completed within the stipulated timeline to provide seamless connectivity for commuters travelling from the city.
Describing the project as a prestigious initiative of the state government, he said the road expansion works are being taken up on a war footing.
Apart from airport connectivity, the chairman said priority is also being given to the construction of roads and development of parks across all Assembly constituencies within the VMRDA jurisdiction.
Metropolitan Commissioner Tej Bharat informed that nearly 60 per cent of the work on seven identified priority roads has already been completed.
He instructed engineering officials to ensure the remaining works are completed within the deadline while maintaining quality standards. Officials were also directed to make arrangements for the foundation stone-laying ceremonies of upcoming projects and the inauguration of completed works.
