Home Minister Inspects Site for ArcelorMittal Steel Plant

Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha on Saturday inspected the venue for the foundation stone laying ceremony of the proposed ArcelorMittal steel plant at Nakkapalli mandal in Anakapalli district.

The event is scheduled to be held on March 23 and is expected to be attended by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and IT Minister Nara Lokesh.

During the inspection, the minister directed officials to make tight security arrangements in view of the large turnout expected at the programme, including students. She also asked authorities to prepare a detailed traffic management plan and ensure adequate parking facilities so that the event proceeds smoothly without causing inconvenience to the public.

Earlier in the day, Anitha visited the Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple and offered prayers. She later held a review meeting with temple officials and priests to assess preparations for the upcoming Simhachalam Chandanotsavam.

The minister directed officials to ensure that all arrangements are made in advance so that devotees do not face any difficulties during the festival. She noted that around 1.2 lakh devotees visited the temple during last year’s Chandanotsavam and said the number is expected to increase this year.

She added that a team of ministers will hold a review meeting later this month to evaluate the arrangements for the festival.

Responding to concerns over LPG availability in the state, Anitha said the government is taking steps to ensure that there is no gas shortage. She added that the Chief Minister is closely monitoring the situation through the Real Time Governance Society (RTGS) system.
