No shortage of domestic LPG cylinders in district, says Joint Collector
Joint Collector G. Vidyadhari on Sunday said there is no shortage of domestic LPG cylinders in the district. She assured residents that authorities have enough stock to meet the demand.
In a statement, Vidyadhari said the district administration is ensuring an uninterrupted LPG supply. Officials are also taking steps to avoid inconvenience to consumers.
Currently, the district has approximately 37,920 domestic LPG cylinders available for booking. Meanwhile, the average daily requirement is around 18,184 cylinders. Therefore, consumers need not panic, she said.
Officials are supplying cylinders systematically. They are also following the first-in-first-out (FIFO) system to ensure fair distribution. In addition, authorities are closely monitoring the supply process to avoid disruptions.
Meanwhile, oil marketing companies — Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) — continue to supply LPG across the district. The district administration is also coordinating with these companies to maintain adequate stocks.
However, rumours about a possible LPG shortage have been circulating on social media. As a result, many residents rushed to book cylinders. Vidyadhari urged consumers not to panic or store cylinders unnecessarily.
She added that officials have instructed LPG distributors to maintain a regular supply. Authorities are closely monitoring to prevent black marketing and ensure transparent distribution.
