3,600 APTIDCO houses to be handed over across district
In a major push for urban housing, A.P. Township and Infrastructure Development Corporation (APTIDCO) will distribute around 3,600 houses to eligible beneficiaries across the district on March 30.
The project, built at a cost of ₹323 crore, aims to provide permanent shelter to thousands of families. It also seeks to improve living conditions in urban areas.
District Collector M. N. Harendhira Prasad said the State government fast-tracked construction to ensure timely delivery. He added that the programme will strengthen housing security and improve the quality of life.
He said officials will hand over 336 flats at Kommadi in the Bheemunipatnam Assembly constituency. The project cost ₹30.55 crore. In the Pendurthi Assembly constituency, officials will distribute 336 flats at Mantripalem, built at a cost of ₹33.60 crore.
Gajuwaka Assembly constituency will receive the largest share. Officials will distribute 2,928 flats in Duvvada and Pedagantyada. The project cost stands at ₹253.88 crore.
Officials said the initiative will reduce housing shortages in key urban areas. It will also support planned development and better access to basic amenities.
Meanwhile, authorities will conduct distribution programmes across the district. Local MLAs, public representatives, and officials will attend the events and hand over allotment documents.
Sudhakar, Executive Engineer of TIDCO, said the initiative reflects the government’s focus on providing secure and dignified housing to the urban poor. He added that the programme will support inclusive urban growth and long-term stability.
