Google Data Centre to Transform Vizag into Global AI Hub: Palla
Andhra Pradesh Telugu Desam Party president Palla Srinivasa Rao on Sunday said the proposed Google Data Centre project would be a turning point in Andhra Pradesh’s technology-driven growth and transform Visakhapatnam into a global AI hub.
He said preparations for the foundation stone laying ceremony, scheduled for April 28, are in the final stages.
In a statement, Palla Srinivasa Rao said the project is expected to bring investments of nearly $15 billion (₹1.35 lakh crore). The facility will come up on around 601 acres and is targeted for completion by July 2028.
He said the mega project would generate large-scale employment, strengthen the State’s digital infrastructure, and attract allied investments in technology and support sectors.
The TDP leader said the project would significantly reshape Vizag’s urban and economic landscape. With world-class infrastructure, major investments, and expansion of IT-driven industries, the city is poised to emerge as one of India’s leading technology destinations, he said.
Describing it as a major growth engine for North Andhra, he said the project would create opportunities for youth, promote skill development, and accelerate regional development.
He also credited Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for creating an investor-friendly environment and actively engaging with global technology companies to attract marquee investments to the State.
