Sand Sculpture in Vizag Honours Lokesh for Google Data Centre Push
A sand sculpture at MGM Grounds on Beach Road in Visakhapatnam has attracted attention for highlighting IT and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh’s role in bringing the Google Data Centre and other IT investments to North Andhra.
Set up under the supervision of TDP State General Secretary Chintakayala Vijay and VMRDA Chairman M. V. Pranav Gopal, the installation has become a popular attraction along the coastline. In addition, it conveys gratitude to the Minister, describing him as the “Job Creator-in-Chief” in recognition of growing employment opportunities in the region.
The artwork was created on the occasion of the foundation stone laying of the Google Data Centre in Visakhapatnam. It also features a portrait of Mr. Lokesh, whom organisers credit for playing a key role in facilitating the project.
During his visit, VMRDA Chairman M. V. Pranav Gopal inspected the sculpture and appreciated sand artist Balaji Varaprasad for his work.
Speaking on the occasion, he said Visakhapatnam is set to emerge as an artificial intelligence hub under Mr. Lokesh’s leadership. He further noted that North Andhra, once considered economically backward, is gradually transforming through new investments and job creation.
Meanwhile, he added that the Google Data Centre will generate large-scale employment opportunities. He also credited Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Mr. Lokesh for their efforts in regional development. In conclusion, he said the youth of North Andhra have expressed gratitude for these initiatives.
