AU Centenary Exhibition Showcases 100 Years of Legacy
As part of the centenary celebrations of Andhra University, the AU Heritage Legacy Photo Exhibition was organised on the campus, showcasing the institution’s rich history, academic milestones, and cultural journey since its establishment in 1926.
Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan, along with several dignitaries who attended the programme, visited the exhibition and spent time going through the curated displays. Andhra University Vice-Chancellor Prof. G. P. Rajashekar personally briefed the Vice President and other guests on the significance of the exhibits and the historical narrative presented through photographs and artefacts.
The exhibition, set up in the area behind the main stage, offers a structured visual account of key developments at the university over the decades. It highlights important academic events, visits by eminent personalities, institutional achievements, and other landmark moments that have contributed to shaping Andhra University’s identity as a premier educational institution.
Organisers noted that the exhibition has been designed not only to document the university’s past but also to inspire future generations by presenting its legacy in an engaging and accessible format.
Adding a cultural dimension to the centenary celebrations, sculptures crafted by students of the Department of Fine Arts were also displayed at the venue. The artworks reflect creative expression and underscore the university’s continued emphasis on nurturing artistic talent alongside academic excellence.
