TDP eyes youth, women to shape future leadership: MP Sribharat
Visakhapatnam MP M. Sribharat on Wednesday said that the Telugu Desam Party was focusing on strengthening its future leadership by encouraging greater participation of youth and women in politics and public life.
Addressing the Mahanadu programme held at Subbalakshmi Kalyana Mandapam in Visakhapatnam North constituency, Mr. Sribharat said political systems and electoral dynamics across the world were undergoing rapid transformation, making the involvement of young people and technological expertise increasingly important in contemporary politics.
He said the younger generation, particularly in the age of social media and digital communication, was quick to understand social changes and public sentiment, making their participation in governance and policymaking essential.
The MP said the TDP had always encouraged committed party workers and was now adopting digital and data-driven mechanisms to assess grassroots-level performance and provide opportunities to deserving leaders within the organisation.
Referring to the State government’s development agenda, Mr. Sribharat said the administration was working with a “Speed of Doing Business” approach to reverse the damage caused during the previous regime and accelerate development in Andhra Pradesh. He claimed that the State attracting nearly 25% of the country’s investments reflected investor confidence in the present leadership and governance model.
Mr. Sribharat said Nara Lokesh taking charge as the Working President of the TDP had infused fresh enthusiasm among the youth. He expressed confidence that Mr. Lokesh would emerge as a strong leader capable of guiding future generations and strengthening the party with dynamic leadership.
Highlighting the role of women in politics, the MP said the party remained committed to providing greater representation and leadership opportunities to women at all levels, from grassroots bodies to the Assembly and Parliament.
He said the cluster-level Mahanadu programmes being organised across the State were helping communicate the party’s ideology, vision and future roadmap directly to party cadres and the public.
Parliamentary constituency president Chode Pattabhiram, general secretary Lodagala Krishna and TDP State secretary Kimidi Ram Mallik were among those present.
