Yogandhra Events Gather Momentum Ahead of Yoga Day at RK Beach

District Collector Urges Public Participation in Yoga Events

District Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore called on the public to actively participate in Yogandhra programmes across the district. He stressed that public involvement is crucial for the success of the International Yoga Day celebrations on June 21 at RK Beach.

A major yoga session was held at the Naval Dockyard as part of the lead-up to the 12th International Day of Yoga. The Eastern Naval Command, the district administration, and the AYUSH Department jointly organised the event under the Yogandhra initiative.

Vice Admiral Susheel Menon, Chief of Staff of the Eastern Naval Command, inaugurated the session. District Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore and Joint Collector G. Vidyadhari also attended the programme. T. Tulasi Rao, Assistant Professor at Andhra University, led expert yoga demonstrations along with the AYUSH team.

The Collector announced a series of yoga programmes across the district to build momentum towards the main event. These sessions include those at Rushikonda Beach on June 12 and Mudasarlova Golf Course on June 15. The celebrations will conclude with the district-level event at RK Beach on June 21.

He also urged citizens to include yoga in their daily routine, highlighting its role in improving physical fitness and mental well-being. In addition, he called for greater public awareness of its benefits.

The programme saw participation from several dignitaries, including RDO Akhil Surya Teja, retired Wing Commander P. C. Sekhar, AYUSH Regional Deputy Director Srinivasulu, nodal officer Chandrasekhar, along with naval officers, district officials, ex-servicemen, employees, and students.
