TDP to hold Mahanadu in hybrid format from May 27

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) will organise its annual Mahanadu conclave in a hybrid format from May 27, combining physical participation at the party headquarters in Amaravati with digital connectivity across Andhra Pradesh through a network of cluster centres.

The two-day event, traditionally held to mark the birth anniversary of TDP founder N. T. Rama Rao, will focus on organisational strengthening, policy deliberations, and cadre engagement.

TDP State president Palla Srinivasa Rao, who has been overseeing the arrangements at the party headquarters for the past several days, described Mahanadu as the “emotional heartbeat” of the party and said the conclave had evolved into a platform symbolising Telugu identity and political aspirations.

“This year, we are taking that spirit into the digital era,” he said.

According to party leaders, the TDP had initially planned a large-scale three-day convention in Nellore. However, in view of prevailing global uncertainties and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal for restraint in expenditure amid international geopolitical tensions, the party decided to adopt a hybrid format.

Under the revised model, the proceedings at the Amaravati headquarters will be digitally linked to 1,848 cluster centres established across the State. Large LED screens and virtual communication systems have reportedly been installed to facilitate participation by cadres at the constituency and mandal levels.

Senior party leaders said TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh played a key role in conceptualising the digital framework for the convention.

The party leadership said the format would enable wider participation by cadres and provide opportunities for direct virtual interaction with TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu and other senior leaders during the sessions.

This year’s Mahanadu will focus on “Stree Shakti” as its central theme, with discussions expected on women’s welfare initiatives, socio-economic programmes, and future policy commitments related to women’s empowerment.

The convention is scheduled to be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days and will include resolutions, policy discussions, and organisational deliberations.

Special technical teams have been deployed to ensure uninterrupted connectivity at the cluster centres, while district and constituency-level leaders have been instructed to maintain coordination with the party headquarters for the smooth conduct of the programme.

Mr. Srinivasa Rao appealed to party workers and supporters across the State to participate actively in the event and make it a success.
