Anakapalle–Cherlapalli Express Flagged Off

In a significant boost to rail connectivity in North Coastal Andhra, the Anakapalle–Cherlapalli Express was flagged off on Sunday, marking a milestone in the region’s transportation network.

The inaugural run was welcomed by residents, who described it as a long-pending demand finally being met, providing direct and dependable connectivity to the Hyderabad region.

The new service links Anakapalle with the recently developed Cherlapalli terminal, easing travel for passengers from Yelamanchili and several nearby villages by eliminating the need to depend on distant railheads.

Railway officials said the train would improve travel convenience for students, daily commuters, and long-distance passengers, while enhancing regional accessibility and mobility.

Local leaders noted that the service would play a key role in integrating North Coastal Andhra with major economic corridors, strengthening ties with Telangana.

The weekly train will depart from Anakapalle on Sundays and return from Cherlapalli on Saturdays, offering a reliable travel option between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The 17046 Express, the first regular service to originate from the station, is being seen as a matter of pride for the local community and a step forward in the region’s development.
