The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Undergraduate) 2026 was conducted smoothly across Visakhapatnam on Sunday, with officials reporting a high turnout and no disruptions.

The examination, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), was held in a single shift from 2 pm to 5 pm, in line with the national schedule. Candidates were required to report between 11 am and 1.30 pm.

The test was held at 18 centres in the city. Of the 8,112 candidates who had registered, 7,987 appeared, marking an attendance rate of 98.45 per cent, officials said.

Authorities said all centres were equipped with CCTV surveillance, drinking water facilities, signal jammers and multi-layered security arrangements. Biometric verification and frisking were conducted at entry points in accordance with prescribed guidelines to ensure transparency and prevent malpractice.

Instructions regarding prohibited items and dress code were displayed prominently at centres and reiterated during entry checks. Officials noted that candidates complied with the guidelines.

The examination was coordinated by the District Level Coordination Committee (DLCC), with city coordinators E.V.L.N. Vamsi Krishna and Kamal Jeet overseeing operations, while district officials handled logistics and crowd management.
