Nominations open for PM Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2026
The Government of India has invited nominations for the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP) 2026, an initiative to recognise the energy, determination, and exceptional achievements of children across the country.
Presented by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, the prestigious awards honour young achievers who have demonstrated excellence and innovation in diverse fields, including science and technology, arts and culture, sports, music, dance, bravery, and social service. The awards aim to encourage children to pursue excellence and inspire others through their accomplishments.
Children aged between 5 and 18 years as of July 31, 2026, and residing in India, are eligible to apply. Nominations, which opened on April 1, can be submitted online through the National Awards Portal (https://awards.gov.in) on or before July 31, 2026. Self-nominations are also permitted.
According to official sources, the selection process will involve scrutiny by the PMRBP Committee, constituted by the Minister for Women and Child Development. The committee will evaluate nominations based on merit, impact, and the uniqueness of the achievements.
The awardees will be announced on December 26, marking Veer Bal Diwas, which commemorates the courage and sacrifice of the Sahibzades of Guru Gobind Singh. The selected children will be honoured by the President of India at a special ceremony in New Delhi, in the presence of dignitaries and guests.
The Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar is regarded as one of the highest civilian honours for children in India, celebrating young role models who embody talent, courage, and a spirit of service.
