Pawan Kalyan cautions against divisive forces, stresses national unity
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan on Monday warned that even small divisive ideas, if allowed to accumulate, could threaten the country’s unity and integrity.
Speaking at the Jana Sena’s ‘Sena Prasthanam – Jateeya Samagratha Kosam’ event marking 12 years of Jana Sena Party in New Delhi, he drew from Sumathi Shatakam to illustrate how collective forces, though individually small, can overcome stronger challenges. Extending the analogy to politics, he cautioned that scattered divisive tendencies could gradually weaken national cohesion if left unchecked.
He urged the youth to uphold constitutional values, stressing the need to educate Gen Z on both rights and responsibilities. Jana Sena, he said, aims to showcase ethical governance and transparent politics, adding that the nation’s progress depends on progressive thinking among younger generations.
Reaffirming the party’s position, he said Jana Sena would defend national unity against any threat, with its guiding principle being “Country first, everything else later.” He added that the party would continue to oppose separatist ideologies and forces that disturb social harmony.
Recalling the party’s journey since 2014, he said it was founded without aspirations for power but with a focus on national integration. Despite setbacks, he noted that the party had built a cadre base of around 20 lakh supporters and was gaining traction in southern states, including Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu.
On Telangana, he said Jana Sena supported its formation but criticised the manner of bifurcation, calling it poorly executed and leaving several issues unresolved. He also clarified that the party’s engagement in Delhi was driven by commitment to national integrity, not by power or protest politics.
