Visakhapatnam to host CII Partnership Summit on November 12–13

The 31st CII Partnership Summit will be held in Visakhapatnam on November 12 and 13, with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu directing officials to broaden its scope by organising regional partnership summits across Andhra Pradesh in the run-up to the flagship event.

Reviewing preparations at the State Secretariat on Monday, Mr. Naidu said the summit should evolve beyond being a platform for investment announcements and MoU signings, and instead serve as a forum for knowledge sharing, policy dialogue, innovation, and leadership.

The summit, to be held under the theme “Navigating Change: Leadership, Technology, Trust and Trade in a Transforming World,” will feature ministerial sessions, plenary and country sessions, B2B and B2G meetings, and the signing of investment agreements.

The Chief Minister instructed officials to invite representatives of leading Indian and global companies, Union Ministers, and international delegates. He also asked them to write to the Chief Ministers of other States to encourage broader participation.

To promote the summit, roadshows will be held between July and September in Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai, Coimbatore, Ahmedabad, and Hyderabad.

Mr. Naidu also proposed regional partnership summits in Visakhapatnam, Rajamahendravaram or Kakinada, Amaravati, Anantapur, and Tirupati ahead of the main event. These meetings, he said, should be aligned with the investment potential and industrial strengths of each region and facilitate sector-specific MoUs.

Stressing that the summit should stimulate ideas rather than merely showcase investment commitments, Mr. Naidu said discussions should focus on future-ready sectors and public policy, with equal emphasis on addressing challenges facing industry. He called for deliberations on agriculture, horticulture, natural farming, circular economy, spirituality, and stress-free workplaces.

He suggested inviting experts from leading universities and said the proposed CII Global Leadership Centre in Amaravati would complement efforts to promote thought leadership.

Highlighting the role of innovation, Mr. Naidu said startups and the proposed Ratan Tata Innovation Hub should be central to the regional summits, with greater participation from students and young entrepreneurs.

Officials informed the Chief Minister that investment opportunities in different regions were being mapped to facilitate sector-specific MoUs during the regional and main summits.

Ministers T.G. Bharat, Kondapalli Srinivas, Ponguru Narayana, Kandula Durgesh, Gottipati Ravi Kumar, CII Director General Chandrajit Banerjee, and senior officials attended the review meeting.
