GITAM Pharmacy Schools Earn ‘A’ Grade in PCI Rankings

GITAM (Deemed to be University) has been awarded the highest ‘A’ Grade for its Schools of Pharmacy at both its Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad campuses in the inaugural National Ranking and Rating of Pharmacy Colleges for the academic year 2025–26.

The rankings, released by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) in association with the Quality Council of India (QCI) through its constituent body, the National Accreditation Board for Education and Training (NABET), evaluated pharmacy institutions across the country on key parameters, including academic quality, research output, infrastructure, governance, and student outcomes.

A total of 398 institutions offering Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) programmes participated in the national assessment. Of these, only 64 institutions, representing 16.1 per cent, secured the coveted ‘A’ Grade.

According to the rankings, GITAM’s Visakhapatnam campus secured the 43rd position nationally, placing it among the top 10.8 per cent of participating institutions. The Hyderabad campus was ranked 54th, placing it in the top 13.6 per cent.

Announcing the achievement on Monday, Dr. Raja Prabhu R, Senior Director, Directorate of Accreditation, Ranking and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), GITAM, said the recognition reflected the university’s sustained commitment to academic excellence and quality education. He attributed the achievement to the institution’s leadership, the dedication of its faculty, and the collective efforts of students and staff across both campuses.
