HSL wins PSE Excellence Award for digital transformation

Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) has been honoured for its digital transformation initiatives in the maritime sector at the PSE Excellence Awards 2026, held in Hyderabad on April 25, 2026.

The recognition came in the Enterprise Applications category and was presented to T.V.N.B. Suryanarayana, Deputy General Manager (IT & ERP), on behalf of HSL. The award acknowledges the successful implementation of SAP S/4 HANA and a series of key digital reforms that have significantly strengthened the organisation’s internal systems and operational efficiency.

Officials said the recognition reflects HSL’s focused and structured approach to modernising its business processes through integrated digital systems. The shipyard has been working on streamlining workflows, improving transparency in operations, and enabling faster, data-driven decision-making across departments.

These initiatives have contributed to improved process efficiency and better coordination within the organisation, positioning HSL as a forward-looking public sector enterprise in the maritime industry. The digital push is also seen as part of its broader strategy to enhance competitiveness and operational excellence in a rapidly evolving sector.

HSL was part of a distinguished group of more than 30 Public Sector Enterprises recognised across various categories at the national-level awards. The event highlighted best practices and innovation-driven efforts among PSUs in adopting modern technologies and improving service delivery.

The shipyard continues to focus on technology adoption, innovation, and digital integration in alignment with the national vision of Digital India, further strengthening its role in the country’s maritime and defence ecosystem.
