North Andhra MSMEs gain traction in 2025 with policy push, new industrial parks
In 2025, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in North Andhra Pradesh experienced steady growth, driven by enhanced government incentives, rapid MSME park development, and a renewed focus on exports. Key districts include Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Anakapalli, and Srikakulam.
The state government aimed to simplify access to land, power, and financing for small businesses through the revised MSME Policy 4.0, which offers special incentives for women and first-generation entrepreneurs. There was a noticeable increase in MSME registrations, particularly among micro enterprises, while growth also occurred in small and medium units in sectors like food processing and pharmaceuticals.
Vizianagaram emerged as a significant MSME hub, with over 4,000 registered units, investments exceeding Rs 1,300 crore, and around 34,000 jobs created. Srikakulam is developing an MSME industrial park to promote entrepreneurship.
Industry leaders highlighted that expanding industrial parks and shared facilities enabled small manufacturers to grow more efficiently. Anakapalli’s industrial flats and women’s industrial park aim to foster cluster-based manufacturing.
The MSME Export Development Convention in Visakhapatnam in November helped connect local units with overseas buyers, improving quality and packaging, despite ongoing challenges with access to credit and skilled labor.
As 2025 ends, stakeholders view the year as a foundation phase, focusing on accelerating execution, fostering cluster growth, and ensuring the sustainability of MSMEs in North Andhra.
