Singapore Offers Technical Support for Amaravati Development
The Singapore government has expressed its willingness to extend technical cooperation for the development of Amaravati, offering expertise, training, and advisory support across key sectors of the greenfield capital project.
The assurance was conveyed during a meeting in Amaravati on Tuesday between Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P. Narayana and a Singapore government delegation. The discussions focused on strengthening collaboration in urban planning, infrastructure development, and technology partnerships.
According to an official release, the Singapore delegation said it was prepared to share its experience in executing large-scale urban development projects and to provide technical expertise, professional training, consultancy, and advisory services. The delegation reiterated Singapore’s commitment to supporting Andhra Pradesh in developing Amaravati as a world-class capital city.
The meeting also reviewed potential areas of cooperation in project implementation, urban planning, quality standards, technical assistance, and capacity building. Both sides discussed frameworks for sustained collaboration and knowledge sharing to accelerate the capital city’s development and ensure the adoption of global best practices.
The Singapore delegation included Francis Chong, Senior Director, Ministry of Trade and Industry; Tay Lian Chee, Chief Executive of Singapore Cooperation Enterprise; and Deputy Directors Lim Chi Kia and Nisha Sharda.
Municipal Administration Principal Secretary S. Suresh Kumar, APCRDA Commissioner K. Vijay Rama Raju, and other senior officials attended the meeting. Officials said the discussions reflected the continuing partnership between Andhra Pradesh and Singapore in the planning and development of Amaravati.
