Collector reviews implementation of key programmes in Visakhapatnam

Vizag Collector Drives Welfare Push, Flags Field-Level Gaps

District Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore on Tuesday cracked the whip on officials — directing them to accelerate key government programmes and tighten coordination at the grassroots level to ensure tangible outcomes for citizens.

Chairing a video conference to review the progress of multiple schemes, Mr. Kishore took stock of election ward mapping, Mana Mitra training initiatives, pending registrations under the Unified Family Survey, and e-KYC verification for fishermen beneficiaries — flagging lapses and issuing pointed directions across departments.

The Collector ordered officials to fast-track Swarna Gramam-Swarna Ward services, the P4-Bangaru Kutumbalu linkage programme, Kaushalam examinations, job melas, and special Aadhaar enrollment camps. Emphasising that public trust in the administration must be reinforced, he called for stronger inter-departmental coordination at the field level.

Mr. Kishore also directed departments to closely monitor employee attendance, improve AP Seva service delivery, and resolve pending field-level grievances without delay. Officials were further instructed to complete citizens’ e-KYC verification as per the targets fixed by the government.

Taking particular note of the high backlog in election ward mapping in Gajuwaka, the Collector directed the concerned Zonal Commissioner to directly expedite the process. He also called for a significant push to increase Mana Mitra WhatsApp logins and build wider public awareness about the initiative.

Stressing the importance of outreach, Mr. Kishore instructed officials to publicise welfare schemes and government programmes extensively through pamphlets and awareness campaigns. He also directed that logistical arrangements be put in place to conduct Kaushalam examinations for nearly 90,000 candidates across the district.

Stressing the need for hands-on monitoring, the Collector directed officials to conduct regular inspections at village and ward secretariats, monitor scheme progress closely, install name boards at Swarna Gramam and Swarna Ward secretariats, and organise training sessions on the services being offered through them.
