A World Bank delegation on Friday reviewed the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) programme in Andhra Pradesh during field visits in Visakhapatnam. Earlier, the team met MSME minister Kondapalli Srinivas in Mangalagiri.
The state government explained its progress under RAMP and outlined key MSME initiatives.
The delegation included Adarsh Kumar and Harsh Jhanjaria from the World Bank. It also included Dr Milan Sharma and Dr Atul Inamdar from the Ministry of MSME.
They were joined by Andhra Pradesh MSME Development Corporation chairman Tammireddy Siva Sankar Rao and CEO Vishwa Manoharan.
During the visit, the team attended a Trade Receivables Discounting System (TReDS) awareness workshop. They also interacted with MSME beneficiaries.
The discussions focused on access to formal finance, delayed payments, and digital adoption. In addition, officials reviewed the benefits of reaching small businesses.
Later, the delegation met district collector M. Abhishikth Kishore and joint collector Gobbilla Vidyadhari. They discussed district-level implementation, convergence, and coordination under RAMP.
The delegation praised the state’s efforts to take the programme to the grassroots. They added that field feedback would help improve implementation and outcomes.
