Anitha leads helmet rally, directs double fines for political offenders
Home Minister V. Anitha on Tuesday led a massive bike rally in Nakkapalli, Anakapalli district, sending a strong message to motorists and political representatives on the importance of road safety. A large turnout of youth and police personnel rode alongside her as part of a road safety awareness campaign.
The rally covered the stretch from Timmapuram Flyover on Addu Road in S. Rayavaram to the Nakkapalli RTC Complex, drawing widespread participation from the public.
Addressing participants, Ms. Anitha appealed to motorists to wear helmets without fail, underlining that strict adherence to traffic regulations is the only effective measure to prevent loss of lives. She expressed concern over the recent deaths in road accidents in the district.
The Home Minister directed police officials to impose double fines on political representatives found riding without helmets. She made it clear that there would be no exemptions when it comes to enforcing traffic rules.
Additional SP L. Mohan Rao, Payakaraopeta Inspector Shankara Rao, Nakkapalli Circle Inspector Ramakrishna, Nakkapalli Inspector Murali and others were present on the occasion.
