Kailasagiri to Get ‘Trishul with Damru’ Monument on May 9

Visakhapatnam’s iconic Kailasagiri hill park is set to welcome a striking new landmark as the ‘Trishul with Damru’ monument prepares for inauguration on Saturday, May 9, at 8 a.m.

VMRDA chairman M.V. Pranav Gopal and Metropolitan Commissioner N. Tej Bharat visited the site on Tuesday to review progress on the monument, currently under construction, and formally announced the inaugural date.

Speaking on the occasion, the chairman described the monument as a key addition to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s ambitious plan to transform the city’s tourism landscape and establish Visakhapatnam as a key destination.

Kailasagiri is already witnessing a surge in footfall after the recent launch of adventure attractions — sky-cycling, zip-lining, and a glass bridge that has become a crowd favourite — and the new monument is expected to draw even greater visitor numbers.

During the site inspection, the chairman directed officials to expedite finishing work, particularly the installation of decorative electric poles and landscaping enhancements through ornamental plantations — all ahead of the launch.

The chairman invited citizens to attend the inauguration in large numbers and make the event memorable.
