ECoR Rolls Out Summer Measures at Waltair Division Stations
With temperatures rising sharply and passenger footfall expected to surge in the coming weeks, the Waltair Division of East Coast Railway has launched a comprehensive set of passenger-friendly initiatives to ensure comfort, safety, and operational efficiency across all major stations in its network.
Divisional Railway Manager Lalit Bohra has directed branch officers, supervisors, and frontline staff to ensure passengers have a safe and comfortable journey through the summer months.
As part of these measures, the division is ensuring an adequate supply of both packaged drinking water and tap water at all major stations. Officials will regularly inspect water booths to ensure proper functionality and uninterrupted supply.
Free drinking water is being made available at platform ends, particularly for passengers travelling in general coaches. The division is also collaborating with non-governmental organisations to ensure voluntary distribution of water across stations.
The division is also ensuring the continuous availability of running water in station toilets and waiting halls. Timely announcements of train arrivals and departures will be made, and proper queue management systems with designated holding areas have been put in place to streamline boarding and alighting during peak hours.
Special attention is being paid to crowd movement on Foot Over Bridges and in concourse areas to facilitate smooth and safe transit for all passengers.
